Like the 'real world'...but less random

Gnasher Club will be restarting in September 2020!

Go to the Gnasher Club Facebook Group or contact Paddy for details

The Gnasher Club offers support to owners of "reactive" dogs that show aggressive or noisy behaviour directed at other dogs - whatever their motivation - and to give them the opportunity to work with and around other dogs under safe and controlled conditions. Covid restrictions wil change how meetings are run, but they will be organised in keeping with government guidance.

What we DO

  • learn and practice techniques to improve your dog's behaviour
  • learn and practice techniques to help you manage and walk your dog safely
  • increase your, and your dog's, confidence
  • offer mutual support and help you learn how to make good decisions for you and your dog

The dogs work at safe distances, at a level they, and you, are comfortable with.

What we DON'T do

  • we DON'T throw a bunch of "reactive" dogs together - meetings are carefully managed. Our aim is to not see ANY kind of aggressive or "reactive" behaviour.
  • we DON'T intentionally push dogs over the threshold at which they react badly to other dogs
  • we NEVER put dogs together in order for them to 'work things out' or 'see how they get on' or for other dogs 'to sort them out'.
  • no owner is ever pushed into doing things they are uncomfortable with. You work at a pace you are comfortable with.

Members work together in a relaxed and supportive environment to help each other.

The aim is for you to learn how to manage and change your dog's behaviour within the constraints of your normal exercise routines out in the 'Real World'.

The Gnasher Club meets at South Hykeham on the first Saturday of every month, 10am - 12 midday but do check here for any cancellations.

It is not suitable for every dog, and they may need to be assessed before joining if they haven't previously done any one to one work with Paddy. Dogs undergoing training with other behaviourists  or trainers are welcome to join us so long as the techniques used are compatible with the Teamwork Training ethos and techniques.

Gnasher Club members have their own FaceBook Group (approval needed to join). It is restricted to members of the Club and other trainers by invitation only. Handler numbers at each meeting are limited.
